Most homes in Vernon likely have "Alexa" in their homes, but on the municipal side, they're about to get acquainted with "Trudy."

The town of Vernon is launching an after-hours voice line that will make town services and information available to residents 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

And in dozens of languages.

The system is been named "Trudy" in honor of longtime town hall receptionist Trudy Roberts. It is designed to assist callers with common questions, allow them to make service requests, and find answers to frequently asked questions. The system, provided by Polimorphic, is powered by artificial intelligence.
